The Church.

A Place of Worship, turned into something far more sinister

Beginning

The Church began as a worshipping center for staff and patients. Originally, it was installed to provide a mental failsave for patients and staff. In case the situation at hand proved to be too taxing and traumatic, it would provide support. The Church when it was a holy space, proved to serve the Asylum well. Unfortunately, as the Asylum became corrupted, the Church would also follow. Eventually, the Asylum personnel would lose the Church to the outbreak. Those whom worshipped the Grave Robber, would repurpose the Church. Eventually, brutal sacrifices and suffering would take the place of God, within the Church.

Repurpose

The Church, after the outbreak, was captured by the swarm. After capturing the occupants, they began to transform the Church into a place where the Grave Robber could be worshipped. When the Worship grounds were created, the hostages were merciliously executed. Some of them where were torn to shreds, others were crucified, some were burned alive. The rituals would all start with one thing: a strange symbol. This symbol tells a story to the observer. It depicts a star entering into a strange vessel. This reminded the patients of themselves, they were the star, the Asylum was the vessel. After this symbol was drawn, the victim would be placed into the middle. The sacrifice would be carried out, it was said that the Grave Robber began to assimilate the corpses and body parts left in the rituals wake.

Care

There is one odd thing that continues to be prevalent. The Church was kept and clean. As opposed to the rotting flesh scattering the Asylum, the Church was simply dusty. This contrast was odd, however, it was viewed as a religious place. Despite the brutal and bloody sacrifices, the Church was still viewed as something sacred.
