Sleep Therapy Ward

A deep view into the outlandish and brutal treatments used within the Asylum

Sleep Therapy

Sleep therapy, simply put, was defined as subjecting patients to radiation and other harmful reactants during sleep. These was done with the hopes of chasing out the demons that resided within the patients. Due to the lack of knowledge regarding psychotherapy. When a patient, whom suffered with a mental disorder that can easily be dignosed now, it was percieved that a demon had possession over them. Unfortunately, some individuals were ahead of their time, and understood that demon possession was not the cause of mental psychopathy. However, as opposed to using this knowledge to revolutionize treatment, they allowed sadism to overpower this prospect. This was seen when Rudolf, the Chief owner, put this into practice. He created treatments that employed even more immoral methods. Sleep Therapy was devised by Leon Rudolf.

The Specifics

Sleep Therapy, actually sleep torture, consisted of exposing sleeping patients to lethal chemicals and radiation. The form of therapy was devised before the outbreak, it also used the gases that were used in the sleep therapy experiment. Leon was very proud of his findings and what became of those whom were exposed. He decided to expose patients to this strange gas, in conjunction with exessive radiation, as they slept. Oddly enough, no drastic physical changes occurred instantaniously. Rather, mental changes occurred quicker. Patient reported violent and gruesome dreams, vastly increased hunger and anger, paired with extreme loneliness. As time went on, their skin began to grow in elasticity. The subjects even started pulling on their cheeks, extenting them over 3 feet. Their bones began to elongate and decrease their width. Nails began to change into a yellow color, hair began to fall out, as large flakes of skin began to be shed. Soon, the patients became insomniacs, ceasing all sleep. The patients' bones began cracking, as they folded themselves in unnatural positions. Soon enough, the patients had become monsters. They even began crawling on ceilings. This was the last recorded detail regarding the patienta, before the outbreak struck.
