The Figure ||Part 3: A bump in the Night.

STEPS

Creak, creak. This what I heard last night, only, that superceeded the sound of a door being kicked in. I lay there, terrified and frozen, my skin accumulating ice crystals. I was shuttering and hyperventalating. My heart pounded and buckled as the sound of foot steps crept ever closer to my room. My girlfriend, sleeping soundly next me, clueless of the monster that has just entered our home. All I could do was lay in weight as it neared my position. Then, the same growl that I heard prior began to become apparent. The foot steps approached my room, then stopped. I could hear the door creaking open, generating a high pitched and ear piercing sound. The foot steps continued, creak, creak, creak. Slowly, they went from the doorway to my side of the bed. Slowly, but surely. The foots stopped, oncemore, at my bed side. I could almost see the outline of a figure standing there, inches away. I silenced myself, and prayed to God, that the figure would leave me. It seemed like forever, however, I felt myself becoming tired. I, somehow, fell asleep. The next morning, I had forgotten what had occurred, that fateful night. As I rise from my sleep, open my eyes, I see something that makes me recall it all. On the wall, something was written, in blood. "Aren't you glad you didn't turn on the light?".

On the ceiling.

Damn. I'm stuck. We can't afford another place, so my girlfriend and I will have to stay here. Besides that, it wouldn't make much of a difference. I believe it follows me. I don't know what it wants or its end goal. One thing I do know: It's here, with me. I can see it, looming over me, at the corner of my eye, when I close my eyes, and when I'm in darkness. I'm so tired, losing sleep, because I'm afraid of facing the figure. It creeps its way into my mind, I couldn't handle seeing it face to face. I haven't gotten any sleep in two days, I'm dying, I need sleep. I try to stay awake, however, the weight of my eyes is too strong. I fall asleep. I, then, wake up. As I gain perseption, I try to move. I cannot. Try again. I fail again. I'm stuck, body is glued to my bed. Then, my closet door opens, I see two eyes. They were piercing and bloody. A grawl came from the closet, as a human like being crawls out. It crawled onto the ceiling, and migrated to a position directly above my bed. I'm frozen, powerless, can't move. The red eyes searing my soul, looking into my soul. It watches me, laying in weight, as if it were a predator. From my ceiling, it hung, as if it were spider. As if, I was its prey. Go to sleep, GO TO SLEEP. To be continued.
